McDaniel Farm Park Pioneer Day - the People

I thought I would share with you some of the photos I took at McDaniel Farm Park when I attended their Pioneer Day. There were people at the farm to explain to the attendees how different jobs were done as well as things about the lifestyles.

The "quilter" actually turned out to be someone I knew. I used to teach classes at the local Joann's store with her. It was nice to see her and catch up with her since it has been years since I last saw her.
The little building that I thought was a one room school house actually turned out to be a tenement farm house and two very nice ladies were there to sing and dance and play games with the children.
There were also a couple of ladies explaining about the food that would be available on the farm and the children were allowed to churn butter.
A blacksmith was in the blacksmith building doing demonstrations. Also on the grounds was a woodworker and others as well as many activities for the children. More to come....

What a fun day you had! I've been to one of these at 'Old Bethpage' on Long Island, NY and it was amazing! Thanks for the tour Holly.
