My birthday treat!

First of all, let me recommend these glitter markers from Martha Stewart. I love Spica pens that Copic sells for fine lines.....now I have a favorite for bolder lines. These are great!!! They look much different than what the packaging would lead you to believe.
My birthday is this week, so I treated myself to a visit to Stamp Club this past Saturday. We meet at the Binders Art Store in Atlanta and I think it has been last February or something since I have been able to go! It is usually held on the second Saturday of the month and one of the members comes up with a project, which was Christmas tags this time. Well, I like to get in the mood, so Friday night I played some Christmas music and started playing! Shirley from CA had posted a You Tube link to make these snowflakes, so I played with those. I added an extra unit so the snowflake would have six sides rather than five. I did make one mistake on my first one, but I can live with it (can you find it?). As a related video, someone had the candycane tag, using Stampin' Up tag punches and stamps. I also decided to use some of my "quilting" to make a tag.

The green tag was cut with a Sizzix die and a punch and the star one with Spellbinders die. The beautiful Martha Stewart crystal glitter does not show up as pretty in this photo as in real life. I do love this new Labels die!
By the way, Spellbinders has a new website and a new blog!!! There is a link to the new website on Spellbinders, companies that get my money....and a link to the blog on my little Design Team logo on the side of my blog....I think there was the mention of blog candy over there, so check it out!

This is what we did at Stamp Club. We took vintage era color copies, did package tape transfer and then put mica over it. I embellished it and decided these need to go on a card rather than on a package.....I would hate to see them just thrown in the trash with wrapping paper. The copper foil tape was embossed in my Wizard with a metal embellishment and the buckle is a Spellbinders die.
Anyway, going to stamp club and having lunch with friends was my first birthday treat....I think I will go get a small cd player and the new Manheim Steamroller CD and have some more Christmas music. Later this week, we will go to Callaway Gardens and go to the light show. Saturday, on my birthday, we have a lunch at church, so it will be a busy week. Hope you have a good one too!

Holly I like the quilt tag. I'm going to have to go back and read how you did the quilt paper again.

I'll have to check out the markers at some point also.
