Amelia Island Plantation

I have visited this resort in June for several years. Last year, there was no pool as they were remodeling. No way did I expect all the changes they had made! The entrance had changed, a parking garage was added, the rooms were about doubled in number, the whole pool area was changed to one of the best I have ever seen! Around the pool is beautiful landscaping, lots of umbrellas and chairs and a lot of pools! The serenity pool is for adults only (such a wonderful idea!). There was a large family pool and two hot tubs, in addition to a fountain area for children.

There is also a lot of chairs near the pool area for relaxing and tables and chair sets, all with a view of the ocean.
The beautiful windswept trees are still there....the walkways were built around them!

The pool area is beautiful at night, but during tropical storm Andrea, not so much! Spent that day in the room on my computer!

I did have a beautiful sunrise on one day of my stay. The portion on the right below is all new.

There is also a fire ring in the evening. Below is the family pool. During the day, there were contests and crafting events for the kids.

This is the Serenity pool....I fell in love with it!
The decorations are lovely...lots of driftwood and natural elements like this huge driftwood chandelier.

When I was a teenager, living in Jacksonville, I used to go out to this beach when there was no development. The old Amelia Plantation was nice, but this new one is fantastic! Looking forward to returning next June! Check it out for yourself here.
