Serendipity Stamps Pear

Serendipity Stamps has introduced new stamps and one of them is this wonderful pear and matching die. I decided to create a honeycomb pear and used it as the focal point on this lever card. I used the stamp to create a background on the front of the card.
If you have never made a lever card, last week's SCS Weekly Inkling #360 featured a tutorial written by my good friend, Laura Lipe. I changed it up a little by using die (Spellbinders Labels 17) to cut the openings.

To create the pear, I cut six pears out of watercolor paper, cutting the stem off five of them. Because it is such a strong paper, I do not have to glue the pieces together. I scored the five front pears and then sewed them together with dental floss, much as a book binding would be formed. I airbrushed the pear with Copic markers.

The Design Team for Serendipity is having a blog hop today, featuring this new stamp and die. You can begin at the blog of my friend, Miriam Napier and pick up the links from there. I love the idea one of the designers had of masking "team" from "We make a great team" and having the pear image so you get the sentiment, We make a great "pear". So creative!

Oh, and be sure you leave a comment when you visit the blogs, as there will be someone chosen to win a prize! There will be another blog hop coming soon!

I know I have been missing in action this year! I keep Harper four days a week and we have been house shopping, among many other things. I will try to do better! I just had to share this lovely new pear stamp and die with you!
