Binders Stamp Club Holiday Party 2012

Binders Stamp Club in Atlanta meets at the Binders Store in Buckhead on the second Saturday of the month. In December, however, we meet in the home of one of the members and this year, Renita hosted it in her home in Stone Mountain.
It is a fun brunch with lots of good fun and a handmade gift exchange. I always enjoy seeing the creations members bring to the party.

The gifts can be anything (sewing, baked goods, etc) handmade so we get a variety like the scarf Marian knitted. She used two sizes of needles so you get a different pattern compared to just knitting with the same sized needles. Betty Anne painted the box with the fish. She stamps at our meetings but is really more into painting.

Miriam covered this lovely box with diecuts and flowers made from diecuts. She taught a class at Binders on making the roses. Paula made the "Merry House" below which would be a lovely addition to a tree or sitting out as a decoration. She has also taught this at a meeting.

Here are a couple of practical gifts, an acrylic photo holder decorated with paper and post it notes with a matching pen and a file box for cards. Both have been personalized with stamping and decorative paper.

Patti made the hat above that Marian is modeling, using directions from Martha Stewart's website. Ann created the piece of artwork below by embossing on metal and coloring with alcohol inks. It is always so much fun seeing all the different gifts members bring as you see such a variety.

Ann's embossing made me think of the birthday card my dear friend, Yunetta, gave me where she applied embossing ink to an embossing folder with a brayer. Added cardstock and ran it through a diecutting machine and then applied clear embossing powder. It leaves the recessed areas with a matte finish with the raised areas having the shiny embossed surface.
I did not participate in the gift exchange this year, but did want to share this little holly box I made this week. I got the pattern off this website. They also had cut files for it and a snowflake box made in the same way.
I don't go to many holiday partys, but the Binders party is one I always enjoy! Thanks ladies!
