On the morning of the party, my sister and I took her to the Metro Diner for breakfast (it was on Guy's Triple D show on Food Network.....yum!) and then to the Riverside Arts Market. The area under the Fuller Warren Bridge (I-95) has been transformed into an area for vendors to sell their wares on weekends. There were musicians, lots of food, crafts, plants, etc. I bought myself a crocheted scarf and some baby hats (Harper is wearing one to the right....yes, I finally updated those photos!)
My brother (left below) hosted the party at his home in St. Augustine. He roasted a pig and my sister and I helped make sides.
I also redid the scrapbook of my grandmother's 80th party (1994) as I originally used construction paper and rubber cement (hey, we didn't do much scrap booking back then!).
Above is my sister and father and below a shot of the dvd being played. I do dvd's on iMovie and added four songs. There is just something about putting music to photos that will bring a tear to one's eye! I put it on YouTube so any family members that weren't able to make it could see it (Dovie Birthday). Technology is such a wonderful thing!
My brother set up tents outside, had a fire ring, fire pit and a TV outside for football fans.
My mom with hubby, Jim (above) and with my brother below.
I think my mom had a great time seeing a lot of old friends and relatives. She looks pretty good to be 80 I think!
