Venice at sunset, twilight

Here are more examples of the interesting light available as the sun sets and afterward....notice the warm light bathing the faces of these vaporetto riders.

Then as the sun sets, you still have light in the sky, but you have the added interest of man made lights.

On some of the night shots you might need to use the creative mode control that affects the speed of the shutter (abbreviated "TV" on Canons). If you don't have a small tripod or monopod to use, you can brace yourself against a fixed structure or set the camera down on a surface for the exposure. Otherwise you might get a trailing of the lights if there is any movement. Some cameras have a higher capability of taking low light situations. It is a fun thing to experiment with and you won't know what you can do until you try it!
The photo above also has reflections off the water, another thing we have talked about. I was only in Venice one sunset and one sunrise, but I hope to go back! Early morning shots tomorrow!
