Blue Ridge Parkway

After we went to Sylva, we went east to get on the Blue Ridge Parkway. We drove on it until it ended at the Smokey Mountain National Park. The leaves weren't as pretty as last year, but they were still great. It was just such a gorgeous day.
Since Halloween is this week, I could not help but take a photo of the name of this overlook!
I would liked to have driven through the Smokies also, but we were out of time and the Smokies are usually much more crowded than the Parkway. It seems that in October, there is so much I want to see and photograph, but just too little time!
Since this camera is over 18 MP, it needs a large compact flash card (and fast)....the UPS man just brought the one I ordered...yippee! Now I can take a lot of photos and not worry about running out of space. It is also important to have enough speed on the CF card too.

Pretty pictures! Think my favorite is of that church and how cool that it plays "Amazing Grace". Thanks for sharing and as always, looking forward to seeing what's around the bend with you.

Well this evokes so many great memories for me....there is nowhere so blue as the Blue ridge mountains....our first driving holiday in the U.S....couldn't have picked a better area...so beautiful...it was September so there was only a little colour. Thanks for reminding me of great times.
