Copic Airbrush Mountains

I did a fall scene with the Serendipity Amish looking stamps with mountains done in fall colors. I have been wanting to do some calligraphy of the quote "The mountains are calling and I must go" and use it with airbrushed mountains.
I cut my mask for the overall shape using a Spellbinders die. I used double stick tape that I have then put on my jeans to reduce stickiness as an adhesive. For smaller masks, I use the sticky portion of Post It Notes.
First, I mask the mountain area and then airbrush the sky.
Next I move the mask down and do a distant layer of mountains. Since it is light blue, it is ok if some overspray goes on the sky.
I skip down one layer of mountains and begin masking the sky and distant mountains as I am using darker colors. I go back and add a light blue to that second layer of mountains. This isn't the best example in the world and I have not done my calligraphy, but it will give you an idea of how it is done if you are interested. You could do the same effect with ink on sponges if you don't airbrush.

Now, how do I get all this blue ink off of my fingers and fingernails....LOL!

Thanks, Jessica...there will be a finished image to come. I haven't forgotten about you and your request for a waterfall route! I hope you will be able to get out for a nice little trip. I am coming over to Santee first of October, so hoping to explore that area. I will report in if I find something of interest in your area.

This looks pretty. I know I will love it when you add your calligraphy and we see the final result. Neat that your daughter teaches history. I thought Bill retired from teaching history for the longest time when he actually has his doctorate in Chemistry. How was I to know, when I met him and his wife when I joined the calligraphy guild?

I can't wait to see the finished card! I love your articles because they are usually of something close to home and makes me say "oh, I didn't know that was so close, I need to visit there". Thanks for sharing some of the "local" beauty!
