Polished Stone with Copics

While we are talking about projects you can do with Copic ink, let's take a look at polished stone. You can do this with any alcohol based inks, but since I have so many colors of Copic ink, I am using that. Notice that I did pull out this nifty little tool made by EK Success to hold my cotton ball! It has little tweezers on the end. EK Success makes the best tools! This is much better than purple and green fingers to go with my blue ones!
I am using quarter sheets of glossy card stock and a spritz bottle of alcohol. You can also use blender fluid, but the alcohol works for me and is cheaper! I wet my cotton ball with alcohol and then put a few drops of ink and started dabbing on the paper. Get another cotton ball for another color and work at it until I like the looks of it. Don't overwork it. Sometimes I like to dab a little metallic paint from a Krylon pen. It reacts to the alcohol based ink and looks great. I did not do that on these examples.
Once I start, it is hard to stop! Allow your paper to dry. I like to rub the dry paper with a Swiffer sheet....it takes off any residue and buffs up the paper.
Here are some of the cards I made with my polished stone paper. I cut some die cuts, stamped and embossed some backgrounds and used some for stamped images. Some of them I used embossing ink and white embossing powder and some I used pigment colored ink and clear embossing powder. If you have particular ribbon you want to use, you can make the paper match the ink....or you can color white ribbon to match your polished stone paper!!! Polished stone makes great Easter eggs...it will be here before we know it!

Sometimes it is fun to get together with a couple of friends, share inks and just have a polished stone party!

Debbie also happened to be doing polished stone on her blog so check it out here. Her previous post was on coloring with Copics, which is what we will be moving on to now.

My Gina K paper I ordered has not come yet. I know a lot of people do blog tutorials and get money or stuff for showing how to use it...not me....I just do it because I want you to have fun like me! If it doesn't come today, I will use other paper. Have a very polished day!

Love the patterned paper you created. IT's so much fun to mix and match inks and see what colors end up looking great!
