Cardinal, snowflakes & holly

Well, this is one of my Christmas cards for this year....I am in the process of making 50 of these and hopefully by the time this post goes up, some of them will have gone "postal"! I had the victorian style newsletter in my stash and I found the holly that goes across the bottom at Archivers. The green and red paper I had found marked down at Staples after Christmas last year. The cardinal is Spellbinders cut from metal and the holly embossing folder is from Cuttlebug, put through the Wizard. The ovals are nestabilities and the Merry Christmas stamp is Inkadinkado. The green is kind of a sea foam green....not your usual Christmas green. I think I will have to put some snowflakes in as confetti. I used to always have confetti and if people complained, off the list they went! It became predictable so I didn't have confetti the last couple of years, but I think this calls for some snow. The red half pearls are the same I used on my wreaths (came from Archivers). For my newsletter, I used the font "greetings" which is very similar to the writing on the paper. The news letter has metallic red and embossing which is very pretty in real life.
But I forgot to tell people about my blog in my newsletter! Oh well....those that would be interested probably already know!
Thanks for visiting and I hope everyone is having a wonderful Holiday season!

Holly your card is fantastic. Hang on to those bird dies I don't think Spellbinders is going to make more.

Another beautiful card -- and of course, now I "need" the bird die! A question for you on the oval nestibilities -- I have been looking at getting either the classic or petite ones -- which do you find you use more for sentiments?

Ah, yes, the cardinal is lovely. My postman must have enjoyed it as well.

I used Martha Stewart's permanent glue to attach the metal foil cardinal to the card....NOT GOOD! Many of the cardinals came off and my daughter's even flew out of the envelope. I avoided glue dots as I didn't want the dimension to transfer to the foil, but at least they would have stayed on the card! I hate it when there are issues!

Holly I love the cardinal on your card. Your card is also very nice. I love the cardinal and have an idea for it using a CHF stamp I have been waiting to use. Your card description says that the die is by Spell Binders but I cannot find this die on their website. Could you let me know if this die could be by a different company by chance? Thanks so much and thanks for sharing your talents. Please email me at JerilynnO@aol.com not my Google account.
