Baby, it's cold outside!

Well, it really isn't that cold here in Atlanta, but I have been making quilts....paper quilts that is! I have always loved sewing and I have made paper quilts many different ways. Sarosa, on the Gingerwood board suggested piecing the paper and then running it through with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.
Rather than cutting each piece, I used Spellbinders die and cut the pieces all in one swoop. I even used some of their old "Gemini" die if you have any of those laying around. I did use the embossing folders on some of them, but then I sanded the paper to make the "quilting" show up better. I also used gutter guard (yes, like would be on your house gutters) to get a quilting look in my Wizard.
I used the sewing maching to attach the piece to another piece of cardstock and then I pierced and hand sewed a cross over the intersections.
I have not finished these cards, but wanted to share them with you "unadorned" so you could see the "quilting" more.

OH WOW!! These are beautiful! I keep thinking that I should try sewing on my cards and I do have my great grandma's treadle machine, but I'd probably just hurt myself. I can't wait to see what you do with these to "finish" them.

These are gorgeous Holly. Thanks for the tip of using the Spellbinder die to cut out the squares -- I have used a hand punch but the edges were "ragged" no matter what I did to the punch.
