Tulips at the Biltmore!

It was a beautiful day last Tuesday when I took my parents up to the Biltmore House. It was chilly and there was snow on the mountain peaks of the Blue Ridge Mtns. As you can see, the walled garden was absolutely gorgeous. My mother and I decided we wanted to go back every season and see the wisteria and the roses and the fall leaves and snow....so we extended our tickets to year long tickets! Oh, yes, can not leave off Christmas decorations! I do wish they would allow photography in the house as the flower arrangements were wonderful, but I understand that it would clog up the traffic flow. I did sneak a couple photos of the four story spiral staircase and the chandelier that hangs the full length! After going to the Hearst Castle in California and the palace in Versailles outside of Paris, I think the Biltmore House is my favorite. I had been in summer and at Christmas but never in the spring. These were the most tulips I had ever seen blooming. The setting in the mountains is so pretty....of course, the setting of the Hearst Castle overlooking the Pacific isn't too shabby either, but I am a mountain girl and I think the interior of the Biltmore is much more tasteful.
The rest of the week, we worked in the yard at the cabin and then on Thursday evening my sister and her friend, Brenda, came up and we visited one of my favorite waterfalls on Friday. I will post a photo of that tomorrow. Sorry for the lapse in posting, but we don't have internet at the cabin and I need to figure out how to get to my photos on my new Mac so I can post them on my blog. Thanks for reading!
