Simons Island is seeing the sunrise. I know that sunsets are known for their color, but sunrises can be pretty spectacular also! This island is in the southern portion of Georgia, one of several barrier islands off Georgia. We spend the last weekend of January there for a conference my husband attends. Nearby is Sea Island, Jekyll Island, Cumberland Island and Sapelo Island.
We stay at the King & Prince which is near the "village" and the St. Simons Lighthouse.
The first morning we were there, we had a bank of clouds along the horizon, but I captured a flock of birds, which added some interest to the photo.
Below, the glow of the sunrise lights up the buildings at the resort. Any time you are taking photographs, use your eyes to look around and your feet to walk around!
