All things Argyle

I have always loved the crisp, neat look of argyle. Argyle is a series of diamond shapes and stitching and is commonly used in clothing.

This Saturday, the Binders Stamp Club will continue to breathe (I previously reported that it was shutting down) and it sounds like we are going to have a great crowd. We are each taking a "shoebox project" where each person takes the needed pieces to put together a card they have designed. The argyle one above is going to be my contribution. People often say they find cards for men hard to come up with, so I think this would make a great note card to send a man (or a woman like me that likes argyle!).

Allison bought herself a sweater with an argyle pattern on it for Christmas and put on the tag To: Me, From: Me....I am sure no one else bought themselves anything for Christmas! These diamond die were actually a gift to myself along with the Grand Calibur.

I used the diamond shaped die from Spellbinders and I made a "stamp" by cutting diamond shaped fun foam pieces and adhering them to a clear mount for the stamp for the envelope. I also cut a stencil using the die for the faux stitching. The faux stitching is done with a fine point pen, just following around the stencil, making dashes.

When I design a project, I like to consider all the options. Other ways of producing the look of argyle I came up with are.....using the Cuttlebug embossing folder....
.....using the Tim Holtz piercing ruler to pierce the diamond stitching and adding pen work to make the "stitches"......
....using a faux stitching stamp to create the stitching....or just drawing lines to make the diamonds.
I also want to try to create the argyle look with my scoring board. If I accomplish that, I will post that later. I will also try to share some of the projects other members designed and brought as their "shoebox project".

These argyle patterns is getting me in the mood for the Masters Tournament....is it April yet?

Have a great day!
