Mountain Laurel

Well, I had to make a trip to the cabin to retrieve that package that Fed Ex delivered up there rather than at my house, so why not stay a couple of days? My parents were there and we spent a day at the flea market and another exploring with friends.

May is when the mountain laurel comes out in all it's glory. There is a lot of mountain laurel around the cabin, but because of the elevation, the blooms were not yet open. Down in the valley, however, they were.
Above is what the mountain laurel looks like from the road and below is some I saw reflected in the stream while driving around.

I think these blossoms are so delicate and pretty. The leaves and bark are both very pretty too!
