Fiddleheads

Another plant that shouts "Spring!" in the woods is the fiddlehead fern! As the new growth sprouts up out of the ground, it is like the uncurling of a red carpet, ushering in a new year with fresh, green foilage! I have heard these are good cooked, but who could cut this sign of hope and renewal?

Sometimes I run across a flower that I do not know, such as this white flower above. I meant to look it up in books we have at the cabin to try to learn the name of it. I always try to snap a photo with the leaf to help in identification. Anyone know what this plant is called?
