Vancouver, BC

The world's eye is on Vancouver for a couple of weeks during the Winter Olympics. I have not seen as much of it as I would like (the Olympics, but also Vancouver!) as I wake up so early, by the time it comes on TV, I am falling asleep!

One of the things I like about traveling is that I have in my mind the layout of a place after visiting. Then, when I see it on TV or in photos, I have a better idea of where things are. We flew into Vancouver last June to depart on our Alaskan cruise. I thought I would share a few photos. It is such a beautiful city and area....I definitely want to go back to this city and Victoria!

Our ship was docked next to the first photo. Below is a shot of the skyline as we were leaving. I loved the lighthouse and park that was out on the point. I did not post any photos of the mountains that still had snow on them or the seaplanes that were taking off, but they were "attention getters" for us! As the trip went on, we became very accustomed to both!

The bridge above was designed by the same man that designed the bridge in San Francisco...you can probably tell!
There were many people out enjoying this beautiful Saturday, walking along the walkway as well as sailing.

I am thinking of posting a series of photography lessons on basic things and design elements (which can apply to scrap booking and card making....I even use photos a lot in my cards).....any one interested?

Oh Holly, I am definitely interested in learning to make better pictures. I mainly know how to point & shoot, lol! I don't have a very expensive camera but it is a good digital one that I can put in my purse when I go somewhere. I also have another one (Fuji) that has a zoom lens which I don't know how to use....any lessons would be appreciated!

Holly I would love to have you give us some points on taking pictures and using them in cards. I love your pictures and how you use them. I recently got a Panasonic Lumix after my first camera was stolen. I will be watching for your tips.
