Putting the cabin back together!

When my parents arrived at the cabin on October 2, they found that the basement was standing in about five inches of water!!! Not good since we have a restroom, den and bedroom down there! The bathroom was put there by the builder, but my sister and I built the other two rooms, with much blood sweat and tears! I had spent hours stenciling the walls in the bathroom which were all ripped out as they were all soaked. A pipe had broken in the ceiling in the bedroom and the water had run for who knows how long! We had put up the studs for the two other rooms, hung and finished the sheetrock. The bottom portions of the sheetrock all had to be ripped out as well as the carpet. A lot of the furniture was ruined. The pump for the well had to be replaced as it had burned out. Not a fun fall!

We moved the furniture that was on the main floor down to the basement and bought a new couch and chair for upstairs. We looked at leather but decided on a microfiber that looks like leather. I haven't shopped for furniture for so many years that I didn't know they made such a thing! I finished up painting the walls downstairs, having to paint one room twice as the two cans of paint were supposed to be the same but were different....grrrrrr!
I did find some furniture that I want for home....now I have to clear out and make room for it. The basement at the cabin is now ready for our visit between Christmas and New Years, so let the holidays begin! Well, let me find my Christmas cards first!!!

Happy Veterans Day to all the men and women who have and are serving our country!!!!

Can you see me sitting in the chair by the window reading a book? Your cabin looks SO inviting. LOVE that furniture. How cool that you can get the look of leather, but in something possibly a little more user friendly. May all your pipes stay perfectly soldered, Holly.

Looks like a relaxing area! Just consider it a good investment of your time along with your WW quest. I remember when we moved, I lost quite a bit...LOL. I know, I know, you'd rather be stamping!
Hugs,
Jan
