The Italian Garden

They were redoing the Italian Garden when I went to the Biltmore in spring of 2008. In the spring of 2009, the ponds were finished, but nothing growing there. I was amazed at how lovely the ponds were on this trip!

When I was in Mauritius (in the Indian Ocean) in summer of 2007, I went to a botanical garden where they had a pond of these huge lily pads growing. I was amazed....they are three feet or more across! Here they are at the Biltmore also (above).

These ponds with their beautiful vegetaion were a fantastic surprise!
