To Copic or to Watercolor......?

So, you didn't know that "copic" was a verb, huh? Well, I consider these markers so much better than others that maybe they do deserve their own verb......BUT, do I like them better than my long lasting love, Watercolor?

I tried coloring this image (from Flower Soft, and using Flower Soft) with each of the medium to help me decide which works best with this particular image. With wc, I can do a wash for the background, whereas I airbrushed the background with the Copic example. I love doing shadows and I felt that was easier to do with watercolor.

There has been a lot of chatter about Flower Soft. It comes in jars of mixed colors, like I used or in solid colors. They are meant to represent small flower blossoms. The company also has stamps and printed cards that have areas where you apply the Flower Soft. I included a closeup so you can see the texture of the product.

So, what do YOU think? Do you like the softer colors and more muted look with watercolors or the crisper more vibrant color with the Copics? I would love to read your comments!

Why not both, Holly, and have it all. I use Twinks and paint with them daily. Now I am thinking of doing the Copics too! Love your blog also. TFS

I like the bottom bike better, it just kind of pops out at you. I assume that is the copics. I really love watercolor flowers, landscapes etc. and you do an exceptional job on them. So I quess I would like a combo of both. lol

Watercolor. I think that this stamp/scene requires a softter touch. Ya know....it reminds me of an English ladies afternoon of gardening. So pretty!

I LOVE them both. If you're making me choose, this morning I'm in a crisp kind of mood. I think that this stamp works either way with your talent.
