Recycled Aluminum Soda Bottle

Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend! We were able to spend time with our children and their spouses and were able to see Jackson's nursery. We stayed in a cabin at a state park and had a great time.

I went to the hospital to have Allison on my husband's 30th birthday, so their birthdays are right next to each others. Jim's is September 7th and Allison's is the 8th. In her birthday bag that I took her, I included this recycled aluminum soda bottle. Her favorite soda is Coke Zero, so when I was given this cute little bottle in a free demo at the mall, I saved it and made something for Allison to put on her desk as a school teacher. I punched the flowers from Coke Zero cans and cardstock.

I used wire as the stem and hooked it in a loop at the top of the flower. I then made needle felted centers for the flowers. The leaves were cut from a wool sweater that I had felted.
It is a fun little project that hopefully will get the high school students thinking about recycling also!

Back to watercolor techniques tomorrow.
